Included are the series New Amsterdam, Virtuality, and Blekingegade. Nikolaj's films include Mama, Black Hawk Down, Wimbledon, Vildspor in which Nikolaj wrote and directed, Enigma, Kingdom of Heaven, The Baker, A Thousand Times Goodnight, Gods of Egypt, Nattevagten and soon to be seen in Nattevagten 2. The Emmy Nominations came out today and for the first time Nikolaj has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actor for a Drama Series category for is role as Ser Jaime Lannistser on GAME OF THRONES. On behalf of this site I want to congratulate him on this first time nomination. It’s well deserved.

Three posts in one day. You might have thought I’d gone off my nut. Here is a trailer for Nikolaj’s current film 3 THINGS. Nikolaj plays the part of Mikael, a criminal who is helping authorities with a case before he goes into the Witness Protection Programme. His only requirement is, you guessed it, three things. The film also stars Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. You might remember her as Karsi, one of the Wildlings Jon Snow (Kit Harington) tried to help at Hardhome when the Night King and his Army of the Dead attacked. The film is currently screening at the Dublin Film Festival.

With not much of anything coming out of either Ireland where the vast majority of GAME OF THRONES is filmed, to Dubrovnik where most of the King’s Landing scenes have been filmed over the last seven seasons, we finally have a nugget of something…anything for us to salivate over. has a teaser poster from the final season. It doesn’t say much of anything, but right now I would bet we’re thirsty for anything. News of where Nikolaj is, is pretty non-existent. There were reports about a month ago several cast members including Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane), Iain Glen (Ser Jorah Mormont), Rory McCann (Sandor “The Hound” Clegane) and Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion) were seen in Iceland where we know all of the scenes North of the Wall are filmed. Here’s hoping for more information as 2018 moves like a snail on pavement toward season eight’s premiere in 2019. At least we have a teaser poster.

Nikolaj has agreed to endorse LOréal Paris Men Expert, a line of men’s care products. This is the official statement:

Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau to endorse LOréal Paris Men Expert

Actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, known for his role of Jaime Lannister in TV series “Game of Thrones”, has been announced as the global brand ambassador of the male grooming brand LOréal Paris Men Expert.

Excited for his new role, the actor said in a statement: “I’m absolutely on-board with Men Expert’s ethos of being the best man you can be, at any age. Their goal to have a positive influence on men’s daily lives, through grooming expertise, philanthropy and everything they support as a brand, speaks to me and the projects I take on personally.

“It’s a great honour, and challenge, to stand for men to keep aiming for their best, through the years.”

Pierre-Emmanuel Angeloglou, L’Oréal Paris Global Brand President, says if there is a definition of an everyman hero, it is Coster-Waldau.

“He is a real match for Men Expert. Beyond his range as an actor, he is generous with his fame and his time, using his platform on one of the world’s biggest series to advocate for progress. We’re thrilled to welcome an actor of talent, and a man of integrity to Men Expert, the brand making skincare innovation accessible for our everyday heroes,” said Angeloglou.

Apart from his acting role, Coster-Waldau also advocates for climate action and for gender equality.

In what Nikolaj as classed as the “icing on the cake” of his twenty-five years in acting, I have the screencaps and clip of his episode of THE SIMPSONS. In a send up of both GAME OF THRONES and The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit including a vocal performance at the end of Billy Boyd (Perigrin “Pippin” Took) recreating a version of his The Last Goodbye from the end of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. (I almost put The Battle of the Five Kings….you know where my brain is).

This is the video I mentioned in my previous post. Nikolaj got together with good friend Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Ulrich Thomsen made this video to promote one of Nikolaj’s causes as UNDP global ambassador. Of the seventeen initiatives Nikolaj chose two to focus on. The first being climate change, the second gender equality. The video is called Poland is Melting in a sort of funny send up of some of the other “cause” videos made by rock stars. There’s a funny part in the video as you’ll see via the translation at the bottom where Nikolaj claimes “Summer is Coming” in a tongue-in-cheek reference to GAME OF THRONES “Winter is Coming” Stark house words. I love this thing and have watched it at least ten times so far. I’m including a link to Nikolaj’s birthday wish where you can find out more about this issue and donate if you like.

The columnists at have weighed in on GAME OF THRONES season seven’s acting VIPs. In their latest column they’ve said that Nikolaj deserves the best actor of the season’s award for his amazing work as our resident Kingslayer. Click on the image below to see what they had to say about Nikolaj, then go over to the poll located here: Small Council Best Actor :: Game of Thrones Season 7 and vote for our guy.

This interview is too cute. Here Nikolaj talks about his new film SHOT CALLER and being in prison. Then he gives his views on various GAME OF THRONES characters and how they’d fair in prison. Included are Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Jaime’s sister Cersei (Lena Headey). His answers are quite funny. Enjoy.

We’ve come to yet another end of a season of GAME OF THRONES. It did look a little close there for Jaime going up against Cersei (Lena Headey). I truly thought he’d loose his head at the hands of Gregor Clegane/The Mountain (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson) after he called Cersei’s bluff. At least he’s finally free of her. Now he heads North to join the Great War for the Dawn. The episode was as usual pro forma for this show, particularly season six and seven. The writing, acting, directing, everything has been above par. If you don’t mind I’m going to give a special call out to the series composer, Ramin Djwadi. What a stirring score he’s composed for both this and last season. If they say music is the soul, than Ramin Djawadi is just that, the soul of this show. I thought for the featured image for this post I’d use one of Jaime’s final moments in this episode. The scene where he is making his exit from King’s Landing and snow begins to fall on the capital. Nikolaj as usual nailed it. Just beautiful. I’m also including season eight’s soundtrack in this posting.

Going forward here’s what I hope to accomplish before season eight’s debut. I’m hoping to get Nikolaj’s work from season four, five and six done in order to prepare for season eight. What I want to do is when season eight airs, is to get up to the final episode in the series and that be the last post for Nikolaj’s time on GAME OF THRONES with the exception of whatever comes after the show with regards to home video and soundtrack releases. The thought of that will be sad indeed.

Another video interview for you. Here Nikolaj talks about his career and his new film SHOT CALLER as well as his role as Jaime Lannister on GAME OF THRONES.
