There were about 15 season seven promotional images released by HBO. Of the 15, there is only one of Nikolaj as Jaime. It shows Jaime standing by Cersei’s (Lena Headey) side as she sits on the Iron Throne. I’m just going to post it here since it’s not a high quality image. Click on the image for a larger version.
Finally a promo for season seven. Here Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) doing the “long walk” to their individual thrones: Jon at Winterfell, Dany at Dragonstone and Cersei at King’s Landing. No Jaime, but I truly am hoping he breaks with Cersei and agrees to joining Jon in the fight against the Whitewalkers.
We finally have a teaser trailer for season seven. It’s not much but very interesting. It’s all the sigils of each house including Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Greyjoy, Tyrell, and many others with voice overs from the cast. It looks like the sculpture is in Dragon Glass and it morphs according to who is speaking. We also have some more information regarding the official premiere date. That will be officially 16 July, 2017. That of course is a Sunday night. And there is also the word that each of the seven episodes of the seventh season will be extended by at least twenty full minutes. That means much, much more in terms of story and action. All in all I can’t wait for July. Interesting it happens around both mine and Nikolaj’s birthdays. Happy Birthday to US.
Okay so IMDB apparently has set the premiere date for season seven. I’ve included the word “tentative” in the title because this so far is not confirmed by HBO. For now well keep to that word. According to IMDB looks like GAME OF THRONES season seven will premiere on 25 June, 2017. Again this is tentative, but we knew the show was going to air sometime in early July. Given this information I’m going to say this is about right. I’ll post more when I know more, but for now this is what we have. At least it won’t be late August as we believed it would be back at the end of season six.
If I can’t give you anything else right now, I’ll give you Nikolaj attending the 74th Annual Golden Globes. He was there representing HBO and GAME OF THRONES. He’s seen in the Inside Party with Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth).
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Nikolaj’s GAME OF THRONES co-star Natalie Dormer had this to say about the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with Nikolaj.
AN EXTENDED Q&A WITH Natalie Dormer
Popular as Game of Thrones is, Natalie Dormer, who plays cunning noblewoman Margaery Tyrell, was surprised to discover this April that the show’s medieval schemers had impressed even their modern incarnations: real-life legislators. The 31-year-old actress says that at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner she and co-star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau were “overwhelmed” by guests’ praise for the—literally—cutthroat series. The show’s shrewd power plays, Dormer coyly speculates, “went down very well on Capitol Hill.”
The actress knows her political intrigues, having played Anne Boleyn for two seasons on Showtime’s The Tudors. This fall, out of bodices for a change, she appears in Ron Howard’s Formula One film, Rush, then again in Ridley Scott’s all-star thriller The Counselor alongside Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penélope Cruz, and Michael Fassbender. Her character is enlisted to seduce Pitt’s—oh, the drudgery of being an actress!—to extract some key intel.
On the horizon are roles in the final two Hunger Games films. Next spring Game of Thrones returns for its fourth season and Margaery’s marriage to the boyishly cruel King Joffrey. Dormer anticipates a lovely wedding gift: “Living!” she says with a laugh. “Death is an occupational hazard when you’re part of this show.”
Given the recent Government shutdown and the battle over Obamacare, I’d pretty much asy that the world of GAME OF THRONES mirrors the real world quite well. You thoughts?
