Welcome to NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU ONLINE @ nikolajcosterwaldau.org an online resource dedicated to Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. Currently being seen as Ser Jaime Lannister on the hugely successful HBO series Game of Thrones, Nikolaj has a varied film and television history. Included are the series New Amsterdam, Virtuality, and Blekingegade. Nikolaj's films include Mama, Black Hawk Down, Wimbledon, Vildspor in which Nikolaj wrote and directed, Enigma, Kingdom of Heaven, The Baker, A Thousand Times Goodnight, Gods of Egypt, Nattevagten and soon to be seen in Nattevagten 2. Nikolaj has also been named the UNDP Goodwill Ambassador to raise awareness and support United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, an action to end poverty, fight inequality and stop climate change. This interview is too cute. Here Nikolaj talks about his new film SHOT CALLER and being in prison. Then he gives his views on various GAME OF THRONES characters and how they’d fair in prison. Included are Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Jaime’s sister Cersei (Lena Headey). His answers are quite funny. Enjoy.

New stills from the season seven finale of GAME OF THRONES titled The Dragon and the Wolf. My feeling is the title refers more to Lyanna Stark (Aisling Franciosi) and Rhaegar Targaryen (Actor To Be Named Later) than it does Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Danaerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke). Though of course the title is more than applicable to Jon and Dany. In the stills though looks like there is some “marital” strife between Jaime and Cersei (Lena Headey). I’m hoping the spoilers I read about Jaime are true ….. shhhhhhh! Won’t mention them here. According to our Nikolaj filming begins on season eight starting in October and he said he’ll be reporting to set. That is very good news in that Jaime will survive this season. I’m hoping too he’s around for the War for the Dawn. I hope the foreshadowing of one line in Spoils of War bode well, I hope, for Jaime’s survival until the end of the series where Bronn (Jerome Flynn) said to Jaime as the Dothraki were making their run at the Lannister/Tarley forces about being a good commander. Lines like that aren’t just thrown out there willy nilly. Fingers crossed.

I have both screencaps and stills from this episode. Overall an amazing episode once again from Nikolaj as Jaime. The standout scenes were when Cersei (Lena Headey) told Jaime of her pregnancy, then the amazing scene between Jaime and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) in the vaults of King’s Landing. Honourable mention has to go to Jerome Flynn as Bronn. He’s always a standout when he’s on. Loved him calling Jaime a “cunt” and that no one else is allowed to kill Jaime but him. I loved the rest of the episode, particularly the parts with Jon (Kit Harington) and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and Drogon, and then the ending with the “Magnificent Seven” with Jon, Tormund (Kristofer Hivju), Gendry (Joe Dempsie), Beric Dondarrion (Richard Dormer), Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), Thoros of Myr (Paul Kaye) and The Hound (Rory McCann). I couldn’t decide which image I would use in this post as Nikolaj was amazing throughout, but I thought I’d pick the one where Jaime finds out from Cersei of the pregnancy. I don’t know I just love the vulnerability Nikolaj displays at that moment.

Another interview with the cast from GAME OF THRONES including Nikolaj, Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Richard Dormer (Beric Dondarrion), Jerome Flynn (Bronn), Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), and Kit Harington (Jon Snow). Here the cast talk about their “enemies” Jaime with Cersei, Ser Davos with Melissandre, Bronn with Jaime, and Jon with Sansa.

I’ve uploaded the soundtrack from season two of GAME OF THONES to the gallery. These files can be played in your default media player. Each file with the exception of three are in MP3 format. The final three files are the front and back cover scans and a digital booklet that can be read through Adobe Acrobat available for download here or your default reader program. Some really moving pieces on this one. My favourite I’d have to say is The Rains of Castomere performed by The National and sung by actor Jerome Flynn who plays Bronn, Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) protector. This piece was featured at the end of season two episode nine Blackwater. I’m embedding it here for your pleasure.
