A new interview with Nikolaj. Here Nikolaj appeared on the Fredrik Skavlan show based in the Netherlands. He discussed his work with the UNDP Global Initiative where Nikolaj is concentrating on two of seventeen goals in climate change and gender equality. He premiered a video he did with fellow Danes Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Ulrich Thomsen and Josefine Pettersen. The video is so funny and I’ll be posting that after this one. Nikolaj also talked about the discomfort of watching Nukâka Motzfeldt kiss a guy on stage despite her having seen him do it for ages. Ironically the interviewer’s girlfriend Maria Bonnevie, starred with Nikolaj in A SECOND CHANCE and had to watch as Nikolaj and she had a love scene. So funny. Lastly Nikolaj talked about GAME OF THRONES season eight and the security measures being implemented by HBO so as not to have the same plot leak as they had for season seven.

Nikolaj gave an interview to IGN about episode five of GAME OF THRONES and the revelation of Cersei’s (Lena Headey) pregnancy, Maggy The Frog’s prophecy and the Volonquar theory. Nikolaj also discussed his film SHOT CALLER where he plays a man who enters the prison system. The film is getting rave reviews for Nikolaj. SHOT CALLER will be released this Friday. Link to the article is below.

An amazing behind-the-scenes look at Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) when she brought Drogon to attack the Lannister/Tarley stragglers after the sacking of Highgarden in episode four Spoils of War. Nikolaj gives us his ‘expertise’ on the scene and what it’s like to be there in one of the most intense battle sequences to date on GAME OF THRONES.

On behalf of this site I’d like to wish Nikolaj the happiest of regards on this his name day. If you read this Nikolaj I’m hoping you spend the day with Nukaka, Safina and Philippa and have the best birthday. For those of you who are Nikolaj’s fans, if you would like to give something to Nikolaj he has opened up a page in his capacity as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals. I’ll include the link to his UNDP fundraising page as well as his message to those who wish to donate.

Help make my birthday wish come true!

Like most parents, I want my daughters to achieve their dreams in life. But we cannot create opportunities and brighter futures for our children without protecting the planet we live on.

The effects of climate change are real and impact us all. Among the hardest hit by the degradation of our planet are the world’s poorest and most vulnerable, including women and children. We have recently witnessed this across the globe: Floods and droughts are devastating some of the poorest regions, putting millions of lives at risk, and threatening decades of progress.

How can we protect the people of this planet without protecting the planet itself? We cannot keep people from going hungry without protecting our food systems. We will not be able to make our cities and communities sustainable without protecting them from erratic storms or floods. And we certainly cannot achieve the 17 Global Goals to end poverty by 2030 without protecting our environment.

That’s why, this year, I am dedicating the month of my star sign Leo to climate action. As I turn a year older on July 27, help me celebrate another great year on this beautiful planet of ours by making my birthday wish come true. A lion is also the house sigil of the Lannisters of which my character Jaime in the show Game of Thrones is still a member. Our season 7 is currently airing around the world. And Jaime is so far still alive.

Help me raise $17,000 to support the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which works to implement the 17 Global Goals to end poverty while fighting climate change through projects that promote renewable energy, preserve coastlines, combat deforestation and protect our planet for generations to come.

I need your help and so does our planet!

Another cute interview with Nikolaj and Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth) where AccessHollywood asked Nikolaj about his feelings for the crushing going on with the character of Tormund Giantsbane played by Norwegian actor Kristofer Hivju toward Brienne. The answer was funny. Take a look.

Nikolaj was on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night promoting his new Netflix film SMALL CRIMES where he plays the part of Joe Denton, a former cop turned bad guy. Well he talked about how his wife, Nukaka, does not watch GAME OF THRONES and how on the set of SMALL CRIMES filming in Montreal, Canada it was hot. They all had small trailers due to the small production budget, but when the air conditioning in his trailer broke down he called upon the producers to fix it. After some pressure on the locals who provided the trailers, Nikolaj received a large VIP trailer, drawing some ire from the rest of the cast. Too funny. Here is a clip from Youtube. I’ll try to find the interview and post.

I’d like to take this time to wish Nikolaj a Happy Name Day. Today our Kingslayer turns 45 years beautiful. Yes, I said that. Here’s hoping he spends it with Nukaka, Phillippa and Safina. Happy Birthday Nikolaj.

On behalf of NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU ONLINE I’d like to wish Nikolaj a Happy 43rd Birthday. I hope he spends today with Nukaka, Safina and Philippa, friends, a good bottle of wine and a giant Westeros size cake. Do they have cake in Westeros? Perhaps Hot Pie can make it for our favourite Kingslayer on his Name Day.

I found a brief interview with Nikolaj. Hope you enjoy it.

My Secret Life: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, 42, actor

My parents were… divorced. My mum was a librarian and my dad worked in Greenland.

The household I grew up in… was in a tiny village of 40 people, Tybjerg in Denmark. I had two older sisters and was brought up mainly by my mother.

When I was a child I wanted to be… a professional footballer or an actor.

You wouldn’t know it but I am very good at… I wish. I haven’t really got any hidden talents. Wouldn’t it be nice to wake up one day and play the piano or sing?

You may not know it but I’m no good at… most things. What I love about acting is that you are exposed to so many different things. Horse-riding, sailing, travelling to amazing places. All these little things you get a taste of, you try a bit, but you don’t ever get really good at it.

I wish I had never worn… carrot trousers. The ones that are wide at the top and so narrow around the ankle you can hardly get them off.

My favourite item of clothing… Skiing trousers. If I’m wearing them I know I’m in a good place. I love skiing.

It’s not fashionable but I like… most of my wardrobe.

I drive… a wonderful Skoda.

My house is… north of Copenhagen. It’s a little cluttered. We’re four messy people, but it’s home.

My favourite building… It hasn’t been built yet, but there was a competition to build an incinerator in Copenhagen and they wanted to see if there was a way to combine that with something the public could visit. [Architect] Bjarke Ingels designed a building that was both an incinerator and a dry-ski slope. It will blow smoke rings from the top!

Movie heaven…< Once Upon a Time in America, Sergio Leone.

The last album I bought/downloaded… Frank Ocean, Channel Orange.

My greatest regret… I try not to regret too much. I find that feeling guilty takes up so much of my time already. I work a lot abroad and have the most wonderful family and kids but being away you do miss out sometimes. I really hope I won’t regret the choices in the future.

The person who really makes me laugh… [American-Mexican comedian] Louis CK. He’s absolutely brilliant.

The last time I cried… It happens on a regular basis and it’s usually to do with my kids or watching some terrible reality show like Extreme Makeover.

What’s the point? Not to get caught up in the little annoyances and the everyday set-backs, and remember to, without sounding too over-the-top and for want of a better phrase, appreciate the miracle of life and our existence.

My life in six words… Kids. Lucky and grateful, unexpected, fun.
