Three posts in one day. You might have thought I’d gone off my nut. Here is a trailer for Nikolaj’s current film 3 THINGS. Nikolaj plays the part of Mikael, a criminal who is helping authorities with a case before he goes into the Witness Protection Programme. His only requirement is, you guessed it, three things. The film also stars Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. You might remember her as Karsi, one of the Wildlings Jon Snow (Kit Harington) tried to help at Hardhome when the Night King and his Army of the Dead attacked. The film is currently screening at the Dublin Film Festival.

Well Nikolaj has shown up…. In Ireland. Ahead of the “blistering snow storm” that is heading toward Ireland and Britain, Nikolaj who was attending the Dublin Film Festival for his current film 3 THINGS, joked about the insanity hitting the British Isles with regards to the dusting of snow they’ve received from this “Armageddon” like storm. The “Beast from the East” as it’s been dubbed is causing havoc in supermarkets in Ireland and Britain including Tescos have had their bread shelves dry up ahead of Storm Emma. Given that Nikolaj lives in Copenhagen and Greenland, he thinks it’s hilarious the amount of silliness from just snow falling from the sky. He was also asked about season eight and if he could share anything, he of course was tight lipped. Nothing from our Kingslayer. 3 THINGS also stars Birgitte Hjort Sørensen. You might remember her from an earlier season of GAME OF THRONES where she played the part of Wildling Karsi who was at Hardhome when the Army of the Dead attacked while Jon (Kit Harington) and Eddison Tollett (Ben Crompton) tried to move them south of the Wall. Six degrees indeed.

Game of Thrones star tells Ireland ‘winter isn’t coming’

Game of Thrones actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has said he is bemused by Ireland’s bread-buying panic ahead of the ‘Beast from the East’, telling RTÉ Entertainment that “you’d think that Armageddon is coming”.

The Danish star travelled down from the Game of Thrones set in Belfast on Tuesday for the Irish premiere of his new film 3 Things at the Audi Dublin International Film Festival.

Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment on the red carpet in Cineworld, Coster-Waldau refused to be drawn on any details about the HBO fantasy show’s final season (those NDA agreements must be fierce), but joked that overcoming the inclement weather could be his biggest challenge to returning to the set of the series.

He didn’t seem to think “winter is coming” here, anyway.

“I think the biggest challenge is going to be getting up to Belfast,” Coster-Waldau said with a laugh.

“Looking at the news in Ireland you’d think that Armageddon is coming. ‘They’re out of bread in Tesco’s!’

“What’s going on with you people?! There’s a bit of snow coming from the sky and you’re panicking!”

In the new thriller 3 Things, the 47-year-old plays a criminal who is negotiating the terms of a witness protection deal with the police and demands three things from them in order to sign off on the agreement.

Judging by the trailer, it’s another complex, layered role for the actor who doesn’t shy away from characters who exist in the grey area between hero and villain.

“I think most good characters, most of us do have both [hero and villain] in us,” he said.

“You know, when people say, ‘Jaime Lannister is the most horrible thing’; I say, ‘Well the thing is, Game of Thrones started with him pushing a kid out a window’.

“If it started with him killing the Mad King and saving millions of people he would have been a hero.”

Coster-Waldau has worked extensively in Northern Ireland since Game of Thrones began in 2011. He also filmed the drama A Thousand Times Good Night in 2013 in Dublin.

Is this the last we’ll see of him here?

“I hope not,” he replied. “I hope I get to come back, so I hope all the tax incentives keep coming!”

A new interview with Nikolaj. Here Nikolaj appeared on the Fredrik Skavlan show based in the Netherlands. He discussed his work with the UNDP Global Initiative where Nikolaj is concentrating on two of seventeen goals in climate change and gender equality. He premiered a video he did with fellow Danes Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Ulrich Thomsen and Josefine Pettersen. The video is so funny and I’ll be posting that after this one. Nikolaj also talked about the discomfort of watching Nukâka Motzfeldt kiss a guy on stage despite her having seen him do it for ages. Ironically the interviewer’s girlfriend Maria Bonnevie, starred with Nikolaj in A SECOND CHANCE and had to watch as Nikolaj and she had a love scene. So funny. Lastly Nikolaj talked about GAME OF THRONES season eight and the security measures being implemented by HBO so as not to have the same plot leak as they had for season seven.

This interview is too cute. Here Nikolaj talks about his new film SHOT CALLER and being in prison. Then he gives his views on various GAME OF THRONES characters and how they’d fair in prison. Included are Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Jaime’s sister Cersei (Lena Headey). His answers are quite funny. Enjoy.

Another video interview for you. Here Nikolaj talks about his career and his new film SHOT CALLER as well as his role as Jaime Lannister on GAME OF THRONES.

In an interview with the The Build Series, Nikolaj talks about his film SHOT CALLER where he plays Jacob a man who enters the prison system after a DUI turns bad, and also GAME OF THRONES season seven. Nikolaj also discusses acting and what makes him want to do it, plus the United States Prison System and why it needs to change.

Nikolaj gave an interview to IGN about episode five of GAME OF THRONES and the revelation of Cersei’s (Lena Headey) pregnancy, Maggy The Frog’s prophecy and the Volonquar theory. Nikolaj also discussed his film SHOT CALLER where he plays a man who enters the prison system. The film is getting rave reviews for Nikolaj. SHOT CALLER will be released this Friday. Link to the article is below.

Looks like Jaime Lannister and Melisandre will finally be meeting. Nikolaj has signed onto Brian DePlama’s thriller DOMINO alongside Carice Van Houten. This movie I have to see when it’s out. Bring it on!

Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Carice van Houten reunite for Brian De Palma’s Domino

July 2, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Game of Thrones stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Carice van Houten have signed on to star in Brian De Palma’s upcoming suspense thriller Domino, which has been scripted by Petter Skavlan (Kon-Tiki).

The film sees the duo as two police officers “who go rogue while tracking down the killer of their police partner who was murdered in the line of duty. As they cross a Europe shaken by ongoing multiple terror attacks, the pair will discover troubling links between the man they are chasing and a CIA operative on the trail of the ISIS cell behind the attacks.”

“I am delighted to join the cast of Domino; it’s a privilege to be working with such an iconic director,” said van Houten. “And who knew that Jamie Lannister and Melisandre would meet outside Westeros?”

Filming on Domino is underway now, and will take in locations in Belgium, Spain, Denmark and The Netherlands.

Nikolaj was on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last night promoting his new Netflix film SMALL CRIMES where he plays the part of Joe Denton, a former cop turned bad guy. Well he talked about how his wife, Nukaka, does not watch GAME OF THRONES and how on the set of SMALL CRIMES filming in Montreal, Canada it was hot. They all had small trailers due to the small production budget, but when the air conditioning in his trailer broke down he called upon the producers to fix it. After some pressure on the locals who provided the trailers, Nikolaj received a large VIP trailer, drawing some ire from the rest of the cast. Too funny. Here is a clip from Youtube. I’ll try to find the interview and post.

There is a trailer for Nikolaj’s exclusive Netflix film SMALL CRIMES. This thing looks funny. Nikolaj’s character in the trailer reminds me of his character of Martin in NATTEVAGTEN.
